dormakaba is seeking a remote Specification Writer (Architectural) based in the Western US. The Specification Writer is responsible for writing architectural specifications to support end users, architects, and design build firms. They will support the entire portfolio of dormakaba’s solutions and products and interact with architects, contractors, and owners throughout the process of developing solutions, publishing specifications, complying with owner’s standards, and managing the submittal process.
HIRING SALARY RANGE: Base Salary $85,000 - $105,000 (Salary to be determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, and alignment with market data.) WHAT YOU WILL DO
Provide project specifications covering the entire portfolio of dormakaba products, solutions, and services within all the North American businesses
Write specifications within the relevant sections of CSI’s Master Format Division 8, 10, 11 and 28
Ensure that all specs written are designed with the appropriate solutions for the facility and the specific functions of the end user/owner
Ensure all specifications meet relevant building codes and local codes that are applicable to the project
Prepare catalog cuts and product specific information as requested by the architect

Bachelor’s degree; technical/vocational school degree or equivalent

WHAT WE REQUIRE
8+ years’ experience in the door/hardware or a related industry
Proven knowledge of IBC-International Building Code, NFPA 101-Life Safety, NFPA 80-Fire Doors and Frames, NFPA 105 and all ADA-Americans with Disabilities Act compliance regulations
