We are currently recruiting for ALL POSITIONS in our Door and Hardware contract sales division.
We are searching for energetic, self-motivated individuals with a minimum of 2-5 years (depending on position) in the industry to join our dedicated team of professionals. We need estimators, door and hardware detailers, and project managers.
Description of Tasks, and Responsibilities (depending on position):
Quickly review an Invitation to Bid to determine if the project is within our company’s competitive capabilities.
Review building plans, drawings, specifications and all related construction documents.
Recognize and address deficiencies in door and hardware schedules and specs. Must be able to suggest alternate solutions to the client where appropriate or necessary.
Perform a complete and thorough take-off with all omissions and qualifications identified.
Must be able to detail all door, frame, and hardware items into our quoting software.
Prepare a written proposal with all documents as required. Included in the proposal should be a clear and succinct description of what is included in the proposal along with all omissions, clarifications, and qualifications.
Prepare a complete submittal package including schedules, specifications, shop drawings, cut-sheets, and related documents for submittal.
Work directly with the customer, architect, and vendors from bidding process through punch list.
Manage any project changes, revisions, revised purchase orders and change order documents.
“Own” the project from first shipment to final punch list ensuring all contractual obligations are fulfilled while maintaining an acceptable profit margin.
Schedule, manage, and verify all shipments to the job-site.
Maintain organized project folders with all relevant documents cataloged and preserved.
Attend in-field meetings as needed.
Qualifications, Basic Skills, and Expertise:
2-5 years of related experience in the commercial Door and Hardware Industry or similar construction or building material industry required.
Must have strong time management skills in order to meet demanding deadlines.
Strong knowledge of Division 8 products including Hollow Metal Doors and Frames, Wood Doors, Finish Hardware, and specialty products.
Must be able to read and understand construction documents including plans, specifications, schedules, bid documents, etc.
Familiarity with building and fire codes including NFPA 80, ADA, and life-safety requirements
Ability to build and maintain strong relationships with customers and vendors alike.
Must have strong computer skills in all standard business environment software such as Microsoft Office, Internet browsers, PDF editors, etc. Also must adapt quickly to our quoting and project management software (Pro-Tech) and our main frame database.
Must have excellent oral and written communication skills, projecting a positive and professional attitude at all times.
Excellent mathematical and analytical skills with an acute attention to detail.
