The Purchasing Manager is responsible for supervising the personnel of the Central Purchasing Department, overseeing special-order hardware purchasing via the central purchasing dashboard system and negotiating better buying programs through quotes and better discounts from all vendors. The Purchasing Manager also assists with basic inventory management and transaction entries when needed.
Key Responsibilities/Essential Functions:
Supervises purchasing agents and purchasing assistant, ensures job duties are being performed adequately
Trains department personnel in duties, procedures and product knowledge
Oversees the use of the centralized purchasing system for the ordering of non-stock or special-order hardware
Ensures that items from various sales orders are being consolidated onto one purchase order, and stock is added as needed to meet vendor’s prepaid freight allowance
Substitutes available non-stock items on sales orders whenever possible
Expedites shipments when needed
Tracks orders as required
Transfers Hardware items from TOP detailing software to a Sage 100 ERP sales order
Reviews hardware summary – makes changes/corrections as needed
Reviews pricing and discounts – corrects or enters missing items
Updates stock pricing in Sage 100 ERP when vendor price increases occur
Resolves Overages, shortages and damages on purchase orders
Oversees RGA/RMA process for product returns and warrantee replacements.
Assists personnel with SAGE procedures to insure correct inventory transactions
Assists sales personnel by informing them of the available product in the warehouse.
Assists sales personnel in identifying correct product to meet specs
Provides final approval on payable invoices for hardware purchases
Oversees the buying of stock hardware, doors and frames
Meets with vendor representatives to develop and maintain good relations between vendor and Hull Supply. Resolves any issues.

Applicant must have 2 + years prior purchasing experience in hollow metal door and frame, wood door, toilet partitions, hardware and Access Control hardware. Must have prior management experience.
