Installation and Service Technician Job Responsibilities and Duties:
Working in the field and shop installing, trouble shooting and calibrating locking devices to required tolerance.
Maintain repair and adjust a wide variety of standalone commercially manufactured mechanical and electrical/electronic locking devices; use appropriate materials for fabrication of parts.
Cutting new or duplicate keys; Assembling, removing, and replacing interchangeable cores; Adjusting wood or metal doors to allow proper functioning of door closures and locking devices; Programming electro-mechanical locks.
Ensure all security standards and policies are followed. Provide response to routine and emergency service work.
Serves existing accounts by analyzing work orders; planning daily travel schedule; resolving problems.
Establishes service by studying system requirements; ordering and gathering components and parts; completing installation; performing acceptance tests.
Will maintain company vehicle by keeping it clean, keeping up on servicing, etc.
Maintains rapport with customers by examining issues; identifying solutions; suggesting improved methods and techniques; recommending system improvements.
Keeps equipment operating by following operating instructions; troubleshooting breakdowns; maintaining supplies; performing preventive maintenance; calling for repairs.
Document service and installation actions by completing forms, reports, logs, and records.
Maintains customer confidence by being prepared and professional on job sites
Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities.
Accomplishes operations and organization mission by completing related results as needed.
Will interpret drawings, blueprints, and specifications independently, and determines the layout and work sequences.
Will read appropriate guidelines, manufacturer drawings, diagrams, and technical manuals to determine project requirements.
Will set up and operate a wide variety of wood working machines and tools, such as, routers, band and scroll saws, and drill presses.
Will use and maintain tools common to the locksmithing and carpentry trades such as, files, picks, tweezers, tension wrenches, powered tools, key duplicating, pinning cores and capping machines.
Will independently repair, overhaul, modify, test, and install a variety of locking devices
Will assemble items with a variety of techniques and may also use glues and adhesives.
Will produce finished products with precise fits, accurate dimensions, and acceptable appearance.
The employee may be required to work regularly scheduled overtime or emergency overtime.
May be expected to travel for this position (Washington, Oregon, Idaho)
Will be required to obtain and maintain a current valid Washington State driver's license with a clean driving record.
Successful completion of a pre-employment drug test (including marijuana) is required. A tentative offer of employment will be rescinded if you fail to report to the drug test appointment or pass the test. You will be subject to random testing.

Qualification requirements emphasis is on the quality of experience, not necessarily the length of time. Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies in the job elements.
