HSJ is seeking a Physical Security Systems Consultant that has at least 5 years of experience with electronic access control systems, and doors, frames, and door hardware. The ideal candidate will be certified by the Door Hardware Institute (DHI) and/or ASIS International (ASIS). If a candidate is not ASIS and/or DHI certified, they must possess the necessary job experience/knowledge to obtain certifications. The ideal candidate will also be passionate about growing their career in the industry.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
Design, engineer, specify, coordinate, and manage mechanical and electromechanical doors/frames/hardware (Division 08) and electronic access control systems (Division 28) scopes on complex construction/renovation and security systems upgrade projects
Perform on-site survey/reporting to assess and document existing conditions of doors/frames/hardware, access control systems and their supporting infrastructure
Review and apply applicable building codes for specific projects to ensure designs for mechanical and electromechanical doors/frames/hardware and security (electronic access control systems) are code compliant
Facilitate user group meetings with clients to understand their system requirements
Manage all aspects of physical security systems across multiple concurrent projects
Collaborate with clients, vendors, and all other disciplines to develop effective and efficient coordinated physical security systems designs
Provide unique solutions to clients on product application requirements for mechanical and electromechanical doors/frames/hardware and electronic access control systems
Maintain industry product knowledge and manufacturer relationships to provide added value to clients
Attend project coordination meetings with project team including architect, contractors, and client/owner
Perform construction administration services (Ex: inspections/RFI responses/shop drawing reviews)
MUST-HAVE (REQUIRED) QUALIFICATIONS:
Minimum 5 years’ experience designing and specifying access control systems and doors, frames, and hardware
Excellent communication skills (verbal and written)
Acute attention to detail and deep understanding of building codes and their applications
Thrive in fast paced environment dealing with multiple concurrent clients and project teams
Comfortable navigating between projects and capable of managing/prioritizing critical project work
Up to 15% travel – all work-related travel expenses covered by employer. Most travel is limited to 2 nights per trip.
High School Diploma
Positive attitude with good collaboration skills
NICE-TO-HAVE (PREFERRED) QUALIFICATIONS:
DHC, AHC, CDC, and/or EHC Door Hardware Institute (DHI) Certification
PSP, CPP, or other ASIS or similar certification
CSI certification: CDT or CCS
Bachelor’s degree
Project Management Institute (PMI) certification
Experience on healthcare and/or government construction projects
