Our Estimator interprets door opening requirements as specified in the project specifications, drawings, addendums and all other project related documents.  The successful candidate must have experience in bidding and negotiating large projects.

Remote candidates will be considered. 

Functions

• Works directly with the General Contractor in bidding and negotiating projects.
• Reviews the entire scope of work with the General Contractor throughout the bidding process to include Division 8, Division 10,  and Installation.
• Works with our Installation & Services and Security Systems divisions for turnkey solutions.
• Responsible for complete door and hardware takeoffs, costs and detailed scope of work.
• Clarifies project specifications with Management and Project Managers prior to submitting estimate to General Contractor.
• Estimates processed in Comsense.
• Work in a team environment with other Estimators.
• All other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• 2 - 3 years experience estimating Commercial, Medical, K-12, Fed/Gov, Hospitality, Military projects.
• Prefer 2 - 4 year degree in a construction related field, Construction Management, Engineering, etc.
• Estimating in Comsense experience preferred.

Skills and Abilities

• Excellent organizational skills.
• Detail oriented.
• Highly Effective oral and written communication skills.
• Blueprint and plan reading and interpretation.
• Microsoft Office 365 experience with focus on Excel Spreadsheets.
• Bluebeam software.
• UL, Fire Code, Building Code, ADA, Life Safety and general commercial construction knowledge relating to the Door & Hardware construction industry.
